Utility Billing Policy for Rental Properties

As a courtesy to property owners within West Point City, we are pleased to offer the option of billing tenants
directly for utility services (water, sewer, garbage, recycling, and storm drain). This program simplifies
monthly billing and allows tenants to manage their own accounts while maintaining continuous service to
the property.

Please note, however, that utility services remain tied to the property, not the tenant. Therefore, if a tenant
fails to pay or vacates the property with an unpaid balance, the property owner remains ultimately
responsible for any outstanding charges. Any delinquent or unpaid balances will be transferred to the
landlord’s account and must be paid in full to avoid service interruption.

To authorize tenant billing, please review, complete, and sign the West Point City Landlord Utility Billing
Agreement
. This signed agreement will remain on file for all rental properties under
your ownership or management unless updated or revoked in writing.

If this signed agreement is not received, West Point City will not be able to bill tenants directly, and all
utility bills will remain or revert to the property owner’s name.

We appreciate your cooperation and partnership as we work together to maintain accurate and reliable
billing records for all residents. Thank you for your continued support.
