A general plan is a detailed document that describes what a city expects to become and how to best accomplish its objectives. It is an advisory document and does not establish law. It provides direction to the City Council and staff as they administer laws and ordinances.
The West Point General Plan includes goals for future development and a future land use map. On December 17, 2024, the City Council approved the new General Plan. This new document and map will help guide the future development of the City.
